expected from you. The treadmill keeps getting harder and harder.
The religious ladder keeps getting higher and higher.

These are true statements. We should do good and refrain

from doing bad. We should attend church, read our Bible, and give

money. We shouldn’t lie, steal, commit adultery, or kick the cat. But

this isn’t the TRUTH of the gospel!

Too often, TRUE things from the Old Covenant law are given

precedent over the TRUTH of the New Covenant gospel. Yet, the

law was abolished and replaced by the gospel, as far as us being

required to live by it is concerned. Selah!

                The Law and Sin

If you talk to Christians about the Old Covenant law having

been abolished and replaced by the New Covenant gospel, they

most often look at you like you’re on drugs. At the very least they

most look at you like you’ve got a few screws loose, or need

                prayer for deliverance.

Why do you think this is? It’s because the Old Covenant law

is mostly what they hear preached in church — all the things they

should and shouldn’t do. Naturally they believe it’s still in full force

and effect today. After all, it’s what they mostly hear, and it’s true:
