A Gospel Short-Circuiting

First, do you realize that very few Christians can tell you what

the gospel is? This is even true of many pastors. When you ask

what the gospel is, you get so many varied answers you wonder if

they are all reading the same Bible. Again, it’s because they don’t
only consult PAUL about the gospel.

The impartation of the gospel truth was Paul’s very UNIQUE

contribution to what we have in the Bible. The only thing that is

called ‘the scripture’ in the Bible are the Old Testament writings.
And yet, the Apostle Peter declared that the writings of Paul about

the gospel were also SCRIPTURE (2 Pet 3:15-16).

Many think the gospel is simply “Matthew, Mark, Luke and

John.” A pastor said, “Brother, the gospel is simply the Bible —

from Genesis to Revelation.”

With MIS-understanding like this, it’s no wonder there is

confusion about the gospel. It creates what might be called a ‘short

circuiting’ of the gospel.

The GOSPEL is the most powerful thing in this world,
but it must be (1) believed, and (2) received,

in order to live in its power.
