another group. Since in cooperative learning model the students

learn and get the information from their friends (member of the

group), this activity will create a joyful atmosphere where the

students will enjoy the class, feel free to express their feeling or

ideas orally, and ask questions without a burden.

Meanwhile, the activity in the audio-lingual method uses

dialogues as the main form of language presentation and drills

as the main training techniques. The audio-lingual is also

named the aural-oral method because the method uses

exercises such as pattern practice dialogues which make use

of the mimicry (imitation) and memorization of material

presented as a model. While in teaching speaking there are a

lot of understanding not memorization of how and when some

words are used orally because when it is used it may give a

            different meaning.

From the explanations above, it can be assumed that

cooperative learning will be more effective than the audio-

            lingual method in teaching speaking
