Strong Black Women | Depression
DEPRESSION
Tears are the proof that emotions are physical.
Imagine what stuck emotions can do to you
when they have spent years without being
released or properly transmuted. What parts of
your body constantly ache, or are in pain? Your
body talks to you, listen.
To successfully navigate through despair
requires being careful not to judge it or resist it. It
is there for a reason.
Our depression is asking us to let it be while it
provokes us to a new consciousness, new
thoughts, and new way of doing and being in the
world. We may retreat if we must, but we should
take time to acknowledge the descent and allow
for the emergence of inspiration. We are in a
very, very powerful place for new creativity.
To release depression the body requires
movement. This is repeated again and again the
yogiv philosophy. Can we make an opening for
depression to be released? Can we allow
depression to speak? Let us call upon writing,
dancing, running, walking, practicing a rigorous
kriya (yoga set) singing or crying it out. Tears are
a cleansing release just as urine is a cleansing
release. Would you ever hold back your urine?
Depression does not have to be permanent in my
eternal awareness. Identify it and let it inform
you as to what is being asked of you.
