Levi stood up and stretched. “You’re right, man: we’re not dogs.
We’re better than dogs—because we’re smarter. Maybe we don’t
hunt in packs and follow each other around like slaves and masters,
but we do have a few tricks of our own.”
Billy Bob twitched his tail impatiently. “Such as?”
Levi Katz walked casually into the darkening shadows and jumped
to the top of the nearest fence. “Such as lying low and stalking our
prey until the time is right. I’m going to reconnoiter. You stay here
and keep an eye on Eddie Puss: we may need a volunteer later. I’ll be
back before dawn.”
And he was gone.
