Levi Katz crept up close to Billy Bob, closer than was normally an
amicable distance. But he didn’t want his message to require delivery
at any higher volume than necessary.
“Dig: we can dispose of Spats right now if we work together. I
have a plan.”
Billy Bob Cat’s eyes narrowed. “What about Eddie Puss? He’s out
of it for the next three days, at least.”
Levi cast a glance at the wounded feline writhing in painful dreams.
“Don’t worry. I’m going to use him as a prop. Now, here is what
you have to do—we need your brute strength. Just sneak around
behind the fence so Spats does not see you. Do you see that big pile
of garbage bags on top of the cans over there? The one with the
open trash can right in front of it?”
Billy Bob nodded.
“Well, get on top of the fence just behind that top bag. It looks
pretty heavy, but it’s barely balancing on top of the heap. When I
give you the sign, jump against that bag and push it over. It’s got to
be done quickly, all in one swift motion.”
