STEPPING STONES
STEP 5 — ACTING: MAKING THE DREAM REALITY
While advice and planning are good, just as important is the willingness
to act. If we believe that God hears and answers our prayers, then we
should expect doors to open and be in a state of readiness to move
when they do. Having prayed and planned, we cannot claim to be
taken by surprise when the opportunity is placed before us. Therefore,
we must trust God and move forward in courage. Look again at Chapter
7 where we discussed the debilitating effect of fear and the need to
have courage. So it is critical to plan before you act, but futile to the only
plan and never act. If we don’t act—if we don’t catch the wind—we will
not fly. Take courage and soar!
FOR MEDITATION
Whoever watches the wind will not plant, whoever looks at the
clouds will not reap. (Ecclesiastes 11:4)
Much dreaming and many words are meaningless.
(Ecclesiastes 5:7)
Hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads to poverty.
(Proverbs 4:23)
“He who works his land will have abundant food,
but he who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.”
(Proverbs 28:19)
