RECLAIM YOUR DIGITAL GOLD

You never know what the future has in store for us, no
matter how confident you are right now. To put it another
way, each of us should be able to decide how much of
our information people can access online.

One of the most common responses to cybersecurity
concerns is to simply ignore it. No one would want
your personal information if you weren’t a high-ranking
government official or the owner of a multi-million-dollar
          bank account, right?

Unfortunately, this is not the case. According to a
survey by Pew Research Center, nearly everyone owns a
smartphone, and more than three-quarters of adults own
multiple Internet-connected devices (Mobile Fact Sheet,
2022). Consider how much time you spend on your
smartphone and other electronic devices to understand
why this is significant. Smartphone users frequently
engage in online shopping, bill payment, and even the
use of a social security or social insurance number. As a
result, it’s vital that you exercise caution when it comes
          to safeguarding your private information.

Despite the fact that your smartphone is the most
frequently used device, you most likely use a variety
of other devices at home and at work. Your actions on
these websites have an impact on everyone who uses
the network, not just you. A network’s password is the
most common entry point for cybercriminals. As a
result, if you have poor security practices in one area, a
cybercriminal could gain access to additional data on
your device or network. Personal information security
is a technique for becoming more aware of the dangers
posed by cyberattacks on all devices.
