RADICAL LOVE
“…for them that honour me, I will honour...”
Her sacrifice of self and her open display of unashamed love have not
only brought honour to His name but have captured the hearts of the
daughters of Jerusalem, who now want to seek this Bridegroom-King
for themselves. This should encourage us to live lives wholly pleasing
unto the Lord, because not only are we blessed when we do—it also
attracts others to do the same.
In the Passion Translation, she is addressed as His Beloved and likened
to a radiant city, where He says they will dwell as one. Other
translations of this verse reveal that there are, in fact, two cities He is
referring to: Tirzah and Jerusalem. Tirzah means "beautiful" or
"pleasing" and was the place chosen by King Jeroboam of the Northern
Kingdom of Israel to house his royal palace. Jerusalem is the city of
God.
The book of Ezekiel (48:35, NIV) concludes with the words:
“…And the name of the city from that time on will be: The Lord is
there.”
Overcomers in Christ will be given the name of this city, as stated in
Revelation 3:12 (TPT):
“… I will write on you the name of my God and the name of the city of
my God—the New Jerusalem…”
