THE LIFE OF A TEENAGE GIRL

“Look… Charlie, have you realized we don’t really talk
          anymore?” Elisha asked.

“Uh, yeah. Isn’t it weird?” I scoffed lightly, trying to make it sound

          odd.
               “Well, it’s because we don’t like you anymore—especially this…

          ‘Grade 8 Plan’ thing.”
My jaw dropped in shock when she said that. “What?”

“I’m really sorry, but I think we have to go our separate ways,”
          Elisha continued.

“Oh, so you’re ending our friendship because of the plan? And

taking this… ‘Aria’, girl with you?” I raised my eyebrows, furrowing
          them afterward.

“Hey! She’s a good friend. And besides, you’re the reason why we

          are stressing out,” Madelyn said.
               “What do you mean?”

“Well, you’ve always been calling us every night, and we always
come to your house—every day!” Elisha added.

“But you know why! You know I need your help!”
               “Maybe get therapy?” Aria uttered.

I looked at her and gave an angry look. Then I said, “You’re going

to regret this. This isn’t fair.” And I walked away.
