THE LIFE OF A TEENAGE GIRL
Now, there was a problem. I didn’t want to leave my best friend
alone at school. She was newer than me, and she didn’t have any friends
yet. Plus, I had just made her angry yesterday. I didn’t want her to get
mad again because I left her without telling her. Even though I still
wanted to go out to this mall of theirs, and check it out.
At lunch break, the girls told me they had to use the washroom and
said I should wait for them. While I was waiting, I saw someone
running toward me. I turned—and it was Alexa.
“Where have you been? I’ve been looking for you everywhere!”
“Uh… I just used the bathroom. I guess the lunch I ate yesterday
wanted to come out.” I rubbed my neck nervously.
“Oh, really? Look, Gigi, I know you’re hiding something and
you’re not telling me.”
“That’s not true… uh—how about you go to the cafeteria first, and
then I’ll come?”
“Why not come now?”
“Uh, because I just forgot something in class. Be right back!”
Then I hurried to the classroom, hoping she would wait for me in
the cafeteria.
