CHAPTER 6
A
fter that class, I waited for Alexa to come out of hers.
And while I was waiting, the same two girls came up to me
and asked, “Hey! Wanna go to lunch with us?”
I wanted to, but… I had to wait for my best friend. Still, I was
making friends, so… I was sure she could look for me in the cafeteria.
I answered, “Sure.”
In the cafeteria, I sat at a table with other people from different
classes. I guessed Ange and Faye already knew them since they were
all talking, and I was just there, staring at them.
Then Ange looked at me and said, “Oh! Guys, this is Gigi. Gigi,
these are my other friends. Only two of them are in our class.”
I said hi—and that’s when I saw Alexa coming to the table. She
sat beside me and gave me a look. An angry look.
I asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Are you seriously asking me that? You didn’t wait for me after
class, and you didn’t text me where you’d be going!”
“Uh, the cafeteria? Where else? And also, I’ve made friends, so I
couldn’t wait for you.”
“Just because you made friends doesn’t mean you can’t wait for
your own best friend! And you never went to the bathroom anyway!”
“Wait—you did? Ha! I didn’t actually think you would. It was
supposed to be a joke.”
