CHAPTER 17
I
raised my eyebrows in shock. I never would have known my own
friends would date. I mean, I did have some little feelings Martin
might date earlier than me, but I wasn’t thinking it would be
Dietra.
Not that I hate it, but I’m just shocked. Although I’m glad he found his
partner.
“You’re not mad or anything, are you?” Martin rubbed his neck.
“No,” I shook my head. “I’m perfectly fine with it. I hope your
relationship continues to grow.”
“Thanks, Shauna, you’re the best,” Dietra said, hugging me.
Suddenly, time passed by, and it was already noon. I had to be at
the show before 12:05.
“Uh, guys, I don’t think we have time to chat. I have to be at my
show,” I said.
“Oh, okay, we’ll be there later,” Dietra said.
“And don’t worry,” Martin touched my shoulder. “You’ll do just
fine. I’m sure your parents will believe in your comedy work now.”
I smiled and hugged him. “I know—and I’ll make sure to laugh
my butt off while I prove them wrong!”
Now, I’m not sure if that was really a joke—it was quickly made
up, but I’m sure it’s kind of a comedy thing.
