CHAPTER 18

          A
nd my quote and motivation, which I got from my comedy

class, is: “Never give up, even on the first step. It’s always
something you can remember when you're successful one

day.” It inspired me to have more faith and success in comedy. And
without my comedy teacher’s or friends’ help, I don’t think I would be

          here.”

“Anyway, now for what you've been waiting for—the jokes.” I
acted like I was bored and sighed. I heard little chuckles from across

          the auditorium.
“Math problems always say, ‘If you have four pencils and take

away two…’ Like, no! If I had four pencils, I’d already be the richest

kid in class.” Laughter spread all around the left side of the room—
which was mostly kids from different schools.

“I’ve got another one. I told my dad I want to be famous. He said,
‘Well, you’re already known for leaving the lights on.’” And this time,

everyone in the auditorium laughed. Even my parents laughed, and they
seemed to like the show. Wait—this might’ve worked…

The show ended, and I was getting people from the show saying,

               “Good job!”
               “That was some great jokes!”

               “And nice introduction, Shauna!”
