THE LIFE OF A TEENAGE GIRL

I laughed and twirled the bottle in my hand. “You can have the
bear if you want. I’ve got like a zoo of plushies already. He’ll just get

          lost in the crowd.”

“For real? That’s actually so sweet. Bring it to school tomorrow,
          okay?”

“You got it,” I said, already placing it by my bag.
“Love you, bye, Elle,” she sang.

               I grinned and hung up.
But before I could turn off my phone, I saw a missed call from

PrinceTrev. I didn’t want to call, so we just texted:

               Hi, I typed.
Hey, how’ve you been? You didn’t answer my calls, he said.

Oh, I went to this festive Wonderland thing, and it was pretty cool,

          honestly.
Ah, nice. So… are you free to play a round of MS Car Racing? he

typed in less than five seconds.
Um, I don’t think so. I have school tomorrow, sorry.

Oh, it’s okay. But are you free tomorrow, though?
I paused for a minute before typing: Yeah, maybe. But I’ll try

texting you, and we could play a round.

Okay, sounds cool. Good night, Els.
          Good night.
