Termination: Employees of Mission are hired on an at-will basis and Mission retains the right to
terminate any employee at any time with or without prior notice, for any reason. Typically,
employees who are involuntarily terminated from employment will be ineligible for rehire for a
period of five (5) years.
Return of Mission Property: The separating employee must return all Mission property at the
time of separation, including Mission-issued computers, cell phones, keys, identification cards,
security passes, parking decals, etc., unless instructed otherwise. In addition, the separating
employee and/or the separating employee’s supervisor/manager shall contact the People
Operations Department as soon as the notice is given to provide an exit packet.
Health Insurance: Coverage under the Mission-sponsored group health plan terminates on the
last day of the month in which employment ends. Employees will be required to pay their share of
the insurance premiums through the end of the month of active employee coverage. Information
relating to rights under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (“COBRA”) for
continued health coverage will be provided, if applicable.
REHIRE
Former employees who have left Mission in good standing and who are classified internally as
eligible for rehire may be considered for re-employment. An online application must be submitted
to the People Operations Department and the applicant must meet all minimum qualifications and
requirements of the position. Typically, former employees who resigned without advance written
notice of at least two (2) weeks, did not physically work the last two (2) weeks of employment or
who were involuntarily dismissed may not be considered for re-employment for a period of five
(5) years. Mission reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy.
Supervisors/managers must verify the eligibility status of a former employee with the People
Operations Department prior to rehiring a former employee. Unless required by applicable law or
a Mission policy, a re-hired employee will be considered a new employee from the date of re-
employment and such person will begin benefits just as any other new employee.
