POLICY 401
TIME OFF/LEAVE BENEFITS
PAID TIME OFF (PTO)
Mission provides PTO to all eligible full-time employees. PTO is earned based on the employee’s
anniversary year. Unused PTO is not rolled over from one year to the next year, unless it is required
by federal, state, or local law. Typically, PTO must be taken in the year in which it is earned. PTO
may be taken in a minimum of one-half (.5) hour increments or a full day.
Any full-time employee who requests PTO must seek advance approval from his/her immediate
supervisor/manager. All PTO requests must be submitted by the employee in the HRIS system.
Such requests may or may not be granted based upon the condition of employment, business needs
of Mission and scheduling of PTO time of other eligible employees.
Supervisors/managers are responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels and ensuring
scheduling conflicts are resolved based on length of service. However, employees who want to
change their plans after the PTO schedule has been set may lose their seniority consideration, to
the extent applicable.
If a paid holiday falls within an employee’s PTO period, that holiday will not be counted as a PTO
day.
Depending on the work state, PTO accrual may vary. The HRIS system will serve as the system of
record for all PTO amounts. It will supersede all other systems, pertain to this policy. For further
details or clarification, please check with mpcpayroll@missionpharmcal.com.
