P. 44
It is the policy of Mission to comply with the salary basis requirements of the FLSA for exempt
employees. If an employee believes that an improper deduction has been made to his/her salary,
then such employee should immediately report this information to his/her supervisor/manager or
to the Payroll Representative.
EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The Employee Development Program is conducted on an annual basis for all office and
manufacturing employees of Mission. Employees hired within six (6) months of the employee
development period are typically not eligible for review until the following year. The Employee
Development Program will be discussed with employees. Both the employee and the
supervisor/manager will electronically sign the Employee Development Program form to ensure
that the employee strengths, areas for improvement and job goals for the next review period have
been clearly communicated. To ensure consistency, electronic employee development forms are
generally reviewed by the People Operations Department and will be retained in the employee’s
electronic personnel file.
COMPETENCY BASED PROGRAM
The Competency Based Program is conducted twice a year (mid-year and end of year) for all sales
employees. Employees hired within six (6) months of the Competency Based Program are
typically not eligible for review until the following year. The Competency Based Program will be
discussed with employees. Both the employee and the supervisor/manager will electronically sign
the Competency Based Program form to ensure that the employee job GOST (Goals, Objectives,
Strategies and Tactics) for the next review period have been clearly communicated to the
employee. To ensure consistency, electronic Competency Based Program forms are generally
reviewed by the People Operations Department and will be retained in the employee’s electronic
personnel file.
The procedures discussed in this policy are only guidelines. Mission may, in its sole discretion,
modify or revoke them in whole or in part at any time. Therefore, these procedures are not a
promise or contract, expressed or implied, and Mission retains the right to determine whether and
how they will be applied, depending on the circumstances.
Salary Increases: Merit increases are based on company performance and financials and are not
guaranteed. A review does not always result in an automatic salary increase. When plausible, the
employee’s overall performance, salary level relative to his/her position responsibilities and
market reference are used to determine if a salary increase would be warranted.
The material produced by the Employee Development Program or the Competency Based Program
are generally reviewed by the head of the People Operations Department and his/her designee to
ensure consistency.
