contact, Lindsey Horner, who serves as the eMediaVA Manager. We'll plan to meet Lindsey in early March
once we have met with Pat Finneran and have a sense of where he might be able to help.
NEXT STEPS:

• Follow-up conversation to explore the possibility of creating a community inscription
program that involves members of the community in the transcription process.
• Write a blog entry that connects ledger content to freedom struggle context.
• Set deadlines for when we want to have ledgers completed and determine what other
opportunities exist.

CONCLUSION

As illustrated in this report, the project team has organized and proceeds to convert obstacles into
opportunities to identify and achieve success. Next steps for the overall management of the program
include

• Confirming reporting due dates with Glenn Oder and Mary Ellen Stumpf. (by February 24)
• Confirm due dates for next steps items (by February 28)
• Updating work plan and timetable (by March 2)
• Sharing with full project team (by March 3)
• Developing a shared calendar of meetings, programs, and external opportunities (programs,
etc.) of interest)
• Developing a timeline to explore the Freedom Conference, Freedom Fellows Program, and other
aspects of the Archives and Library Resources (projected discussions in April)
