Sweet and Spicy Pickles
Submitted By Ann Davis Maness
Ingredients:
1 gallon Kosher dill pickles
1 (4 lb) bag of sugar
1 cup jalapeno peppers
Pour the pickles into the sink and rinse with cold
water. Rinse jar also. Cut the pickles in about ¼"
slices and place back into the jar. When jar is half full,
cover pickles with sugar. Repeat until all pickles are
back in the jar. (I add 1 cup of peppers, but you do not
have to. I like them spicy). The pickles make their own
juice. If you have extra sugar just wait an hour or two
and add the rest of the sugar. Shake the jar well every 24
hours for 3 days. Then eat like crazy--like Lay's Potatoe
Chips--no one can eat just one!
This recipe was given to me by Barney Hugh Reeves.
