Working with The College Board, we are providing our Pre-AP teachers mandatory professional
development for the year 2 Pre-AP courses and any year 1 Pre-AP teachers who did not complete the

This year, our sophomores who experienced Pre-AP as freshmen will continue to experience Pre-AP in
Geometry, Chemistry, and English. The vertical alignment continues to build on the four principles: close
observation and analysis, evidence-based writing, higher order questioning, and academic conversation.
Next year, the district will implement and expand the following programs: Project Lead the Way (PLTW)
and Uncharted Learning (INCubatoredu). This requires special training for our staff as they learn the
expectations and requirements for teaching the program. We are meeting with the teachers and campus
administrators to ensure the classrooms are conducive and for leaning to continue in class and remotely.
With the roll out of our 1:1 Chromebook take home initiative for the 2020-21 school year, we are finalizing
our digital license needs in order to make purchases for the 2020-21 school year. Once the licenses are
acquired, teachers will receive professional development on the dashboards and resources.
Working with Prairie State Community College, we are moving forward with 3 programs. The Early College
Program has nineteen students eligible to participate, the Certified Nursing Assistant program has nine
students eligible, and the Dental Assisting program has eight students eligible. Prairie State was awarded a
grant for high school juniors to participate in a two-year program where they can graduate with forty-one
college credits and a dental assisting certification. Upon completion of the program, the students will secure
a seat in PSC’s Dental Hygienist program.
As new parameters for CTE funding changes, we are working in collaboration with our Career Preparation
Network consultants to ensure we are maximizing our expenses and aligning our programs to meet the 2020-
21 changes.
