Abstract As resource management becomes difficult, the increase in population is a major
concern. As the population grows, smart cities are required. Smart cities are designed such that
challenges can be solved using technologies such as IoT. Parking is one such problem. Parking
is complicated in a mall and gives the people a lot of discomfort. The problem is that the
availability of parking slots is not known to people. Technology has become more reliable,
allowing interaction between human beings to decline while machines are beginning to take
over in many areas of interest. The IoT reflects the concept of computers that can control whole
systems without human interactions. Millions of devices will still connect to different
applications via the Internet of Things ( IoT). One of the daily tasks for the people of every
country is to search for the free parking lot. People spend a great deal of time looking for the
car park. The main motive behind this paper is the development of a system through which
people can access real-time parking data wherever they wish. The free parking space can be
determined using ultrasonic sensors connected to a Wi-Fi and a microcontroller panel.
