Abstract The Internet of Things (IoT) is a rapidly growing technology, and the field of IoT is
expanding its wings in all areas today. With advancements in computers such as Arduino,
Raspberry Pi, and NodeMCU-ESP32, innovation is reaching the ground level with applications
in farming and aquaculture. The smart pH and water level monitoring system is based on
Internet of Things (IoT) project. It consists of a pH sensor and a water level sensor. Due to time
constraints and expensive labour costs, this system was created to solve the problem. The
monitoring pH water system is set a value between 6.0-8.0 range of the pH water. If the water
reading is high (greater than 8.0) the pump will automatically add the acid liquid to maintain
the pH value between the range. If the water reading is low (less than 6.0) the pump will
automatically add the alkaline liquid to maintain the pH value between the range. They are two
ways to control the water level in the aquarium. Firstly, by using a pump to top-up the water
level and second use a mechanical part to prevent the water from overflow. This smart system
allows the user to monitor the data using the ThingSpeak website and a smartphone with an
internet connection. The website displays real-time data in graph form and virtual display,
while all data is collected and saved in Microsoft Excel. The researcher study how long this
system takes time for the water to stabilize.
