Development of Warning Fire and
Smoke Signal Detector in Household

Abstract Most homes now do not have fire and smoke alarms. Nowadays, fire cases have
occurred in many homes and caused the occupants of the house to suffer serious injuries or loss
of life. Therefore, the importance of fire alarms and smoke installed at home to increase
security at home. A fire alarm serves as a device to alert the user that there is a fire in the area
and a smoke alarm serves as a device to alert the user that there is smoke in the area. In this
project, a combination of fire alarm and smoke was created to detect fire or smoke in the home.
By applying this system at home, the chances of a house experiencing a fire are low. The system
has two detectors namely fire detector and smoke detector. When there is a fire in the house
the fire detector will react and the smoke detector will react when there is smoke in the house.
These fire and smoke detectors are programmed so that they do not react too quickly when
detecting fire or smoke. This project uses Arduino uno r3 as a process of programming fire and
smoke detectors in the system. When the system detects the parameters set in the Arduino, the
fire or smoke detector will respond and the LCD will show the values of fire and smoke on the
LCD display. Through this system, users can increase their safety and avoid unwanted disasters
occurred to them.
