                    4) Existing  faculty  members  who  have  already  started  relevant  and  verticalized

                       Master’s degrees and almost to finish; and
                    5) Existing  faculty  members  who  have  already  started  after  the  imposition  of  the

                       verticalization policy and the  master’s degrees are not relevant, not verticalized and

                       not recognized by the University.




               Specific implementing guidelines

                       In  conformity  with  the  existing  University  Staff  Development  Policies,  Rules  and

               Regulations,  the  CSC  Law  and  Rules,  and  other  existing  policies,  the  following  specific

               implementing guidelines for the imposition of relevant master’s degree for faculty members
               to become permanent should be observed:


                   1)  For new appointees
               1.1 For new appointees, on contractual status, the prescribed period to finish the relevant

               master’s degree is four (4) years, and the verticalization policy shall be strictly adhered to.

               1.2  In  case  the  new  appointee/faculty  did  not  finish  the  master’s  degree  within  the
               prescribed  period,  without  justifiable  reasons,  based  on  the  existing  Staff  Development

               Policies, the Management will no longer renew his/her appointment.

                   2)  For existing faculty members

               2.1 All non-master’s degree faculty members occupying permanent plantilla positions shall

               be reverted to Temporary Status upon effectivity of this policy, if they will not finish their
               master’s degree within the prescribed maximum period based on the units earned, except

               for justifiable reasons.

               2.2 The  HRMO  shall  prepare  a  Master  List  of  faculty  members  without  master’s  degrees  in

               accordance with the provisions of Items 2.3 and 2.4 hereof,  to  determine  the  Order  of Priority
               and the prescribed period to be given to finish the degree.

               2.3  Faculty members without relevant master’s degrees, regardless of their employment status

               are compelled to finish their degrees in the following Order of Priority based on the length of

               service with the University, to wit:
