8. Faculty must conduct echo seminar after attending such training, seminar and workshop
within the academic calendar year upon reinstatement to duty. Report of this echo
activity shall be furnished to the CSDC and the USDB which shall be the basis of succeeding
attendance to similar other activities.
Section II. Full Time Study Leave
1. All applicants on full time study leave must meet the following basic qualifications:
a) Must have served the University under permanent status for at least one (1) year
immediately preceding the application;
b) Must have obtained a very satisfactory (VS) performance rating for the last two (2)
preceding rating periods prior to application;
c) Must have no pending administrative/criminal charges;
d) For those with financial/scholarship assistance, he/she must not be more than 50 years
of age;
e) For those without financial assistance/scholarship, no specific age limit as long as the
grantee can render the required return service.
2. A Faculty member shall be allowed to go on study leave/scholarship only once for
every level/course/program;
3. The granting of study leave shall be in accordance with the Staff Development Program,
provided the following shall be observed:
a) Request for study leave must be strictly in accordance with the specialization of the
faculty concerned. In case of faculty retooling or those with terminal degrees, the College
Advisory Council shall determine the degree to be pursued by the faculty and recommend
to the Campus Staff Development Board for approval;
b) The Dean of the College, Director/Head of Office must certify that the services of the
applicant could be temporarily dispensed with and that someone could take over his/her
workload;
c) The Campus Staff Development Committee shall approve the school/university where
the applicant will enroll;
d) The grantee shall secure a clearance and enter into scholarship/fellowship contract with
the University, the Chair of the USDB and the Dean or immediate supervisor of the grantee
shall sign as witnesses; and
e) Faculty who pursue advanced degrees in ISU shall be under Study Without Leave.
