               5. The CSDC shall submit to the University Staff Development Board progress reports of all
                   grantees at the end of every academic term;

               6.  The CSDC shall hold meetings as  the  need arises and to  deliberate en banc  on  all
                   applications, except in extremely urgent cases where referendum may be allowed;

               7.  The  CSDC  shall  establish  linkages  with  other  agencies  and  private  organizations  for
                   possible grants/sponsors.



               SPECIFIC GUIDELINES

               Section I.  DURATION OF GRANT

               1. For Undergraduate Program

                i.  Undergraduate program – to complete a course, but not to exceed 3 years.

               ii.  Vocational – to complete the program but not to exceed 1 year.

               2.  For Master’s Program – 2.5 years

               3. For Doctorate program – 3 years

               4. Sabbatical – one (1) year without extension

               5. Post Doctoral – maximum of one (1) year

               6. Thesis/Dissertation Leave:

               Thesis leave (for master’s degree) – one semester*

               Dissertation Leave (for doctorate degree) – 1 year*

               * - may be extended for another semester for meritorious reason, such as:  1) force majeure
                   for  experimental thesis,  2)  about to  defend  his/her thesis or dissertation,  and other
                   reasons  that  will  be  determined  by  the  USDB.  Otherwise,  the  extension  will  be
                   chargeable  to  accumulated  leave  credits,  if  there  is  any,  if  none,  it  will  be  on  leave
                   without  pay.  For  finalization/reproduction  of  thesis/dissertation  book,  1-2  months
                   leave may be granted.
