6. Closed Career Position - any position in the faculty of the Isabela State University.
7. Comparatively at par – predetermined reasonable difference or gap between the
ranking points of the candidates for promotion based on the comparative
assessment in terms of performance, education and training, experience and
outstanding accomplishments, and other relevant criteria.
8. Counseling – entails a one-on-one close interaction between a faculty member and
a supervisor to jointly look at problems besetting him/her, which affect his/her
performance and relationships with others. It is used generally as a corrective
approach in helping an employee overcome his/her problem, which may be either
personal or work related.
9. Demonstration Teaching – the results of the actual sample teaching performance of the
applicant before appropriate students who shall rate him/her together with Subject
Specialists and representatives of the Professional Education Department.
10. Deep Selection – the process of promoting a faculty or non-teaching candidate who
is not next-in-rank but has higher ranking points in terms of qualifications and
performance.
11. Detail – temporary movement of a faculty member from one department or
agency to another, which does not involve a reduction in rank, status or salary.
A detail requires issuance of an office order by duly authorized official and shall
be allowed only for a maximum of one year.
12. Discrimination – refers to a situation wherein a qualified applicant is not included in
the selection line-up and/or shortlist on account of gender, civil status, pregnancy,
disability, religion, ethnicity or political orientation.
13. Education – refers to the relevant advanced academic degree/s earned from
academic institution of reputable and recognized standing.
14. Experience – refers to academic and related professional experience in a state
college/university or private institutions.
15. Extremely Urgent Case – a situation where the holding of a meeting by the CSDC
and/or the USDB is not possible due to time constraint, (e.g., invitation or notice
for trainings, seminars, scholarships, etc., is received very late and deadline for
submission or confirmation of attendance/nomination makes it impossible for
the CSDC and USDB to meet en banc and act on the matter.)
