41. PES – refers to the performance evaluation system for faculty positions/ranks. It
shall be an organized, methodical and standardized system of evaluating the
individual performance of faculty members for organizational effectiveness.
42. Personnel Action - any action denoting the movement or progress of personnel in
the civil service.
43. Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) - the CHED-
recognized organization of all chartered SUCs.
44. Post Doctoral Leave – a kind of leave that is granted to a faculty member with
permanent plantilla item, with full pay to undertake scholarly activities to further
improve his qualifications and competence and become more effective and
efficient in his/her work.
45. Professional Development and Work -Related Dimensions – refers to Item 3.0 in the
PASUC Common Criteria for Evaluation under NBC 461 as well as behavioral
dimensions necessary for the successful performance of the job.
46. Psycho-Social Attributes – refer to the characteristics or traits of an applicant which
involves both psychological and social aspects. Psychological includes the way
he/she perceive things, ideas, beliefs, and understanding and how he/she acts
and relates these things to other and in social situations.
47. Qualifications – refer to the educational attainment, academic and related experience,
as well as relevant professional development that include seminars, trainings,
consultancy, expert services, honors, awards, licensure exams, community outreach
identified in the Common Criteria for Evaluation (CCE) under NBC 461.
48. Qualification Standards – is a statement of minimum qualifications for a position,
which shall include education, experience, training, and physical characteristics
and personality traits, required for the performance of the job or set of duties.
The civil service eligibility can be dispensed with for appointment to faculty
ranks; however, RA 1080 shall be required if the subjects to be taught are covered
by bar/board laws.
49. Rank – refers to academic rank or sub-rank assigned to a member of the faculty after
evaluation in accordance with the common criteria and point allocation as may be
prescribed from time to time by the government or non-government entity.
