70. Terminal Degree – a discipline which has no higher degree offered.
71. Transfer – the movement of a faculty member from one SUC to another or from
one college to another within the same SUC or from one position in the
administrative department to a faculty position in the academic department or
vice versa within the SUC without break in the service. It involves issuance of
an appointment.
72. Transferees – refer to those who have been employed either in the University or other
government agencies or instrumentalities who wish to join the faculty staff of ISU.
73. UFSPB – refers to the University Faculty Selection & Promotions Board. This
body shall assist the University President in selecting applicants or candidates for
appointment and promotion for recommendation to the governing board, which
shall appoint faculty members to positions/ranks.
74. Upgrading – involves the reallocation of the salary grade assignment of a position
to a higher salary grade without change in its duties and responsibilities. The term
upgrading refers to a class of positions and is not applied in individual cases. A
class is upgraded in view of its perceived relative worth as compared to other classes
of positions with similar salary grade assignments.
75. USDB - refers to the University Staff Development Board. This body shall be
responsible for selecting and recommending faculty members who will attend
specific training programs conducted by the University or by government
agencies or duly accredited non-governmental organizations, local or foreign.
76. University – herein referred to as the Isabela State University.
77. University Scholar – a faculty member who is pursuing a verticalized degree and
granted a full-time study leave with pay and receives other scholarship benefits
such as free tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, monthly stipend, book allowance,
and thesis or dissertation assistance, and enrolled at prestigious
universities/colleges whose program is a COD and COE or Level II accredited.
78. Verticalized degree – refers to consistency of degrees from baccalaureate to
advanced degrees obtained from recognized and reputable and/or accredited
institution/s of higher learning.
