60. Selection Line-Up – is a listing of qualified and competent applicants for
consideration to a vacancy which includes, but not limited to, the comparative
information of their education, experience, training, civil service eligibility,
performance rating (if applicable), relevant work accomplishments, physical
characteristics, psycho-social attributes, personality traits, and potential.
61. Short-Listed Applicants – a listing of the top five (5) ranking applicants to be made by
the Campus Faculty Selection and Promotions Committee based on the screening
undergone by the applicants included in the selection line-up.
62. Skills Test – refers to actual demonstration of skills required by a job to be performed
by the applicant/s.
63. Staff Development – refers to the improvement on and the upgrading of the
qualifications and competence of the University personnel, both teaching and
non-teaching, through higher degrees, trainings, seminars, conferences,
workshops, sabbatical/post-doctoral.
64. Study Leave – is a time off from work for the purpose of assisting qualified
officials and employees to prepare for their bar or board examinations or to
complete advanced degree (Master’s and Doctorate degrees). The leave shall be
covered by a contract between the beneficiary thereof and the University, subject
to the existing Staff Development Policies, Rules and Regulations.
65. Study Without Leave - taking a higher degree after official working hours usually
on weekends or evening while working full time.
66. Subject Specialist – refers to a professor or faculty member whose specialization is in
line with the nature of the teaching position to be filled and who shall be chosen
by the head of the college/department to sit as member of the Recruitment Board
requiring such expertise.
67. Superior Qualifications – shall mean outstanding relevant work accomplishments,
educational attainment and training appropriate for the position to be filled up.
It shall include demonstration of exceptional job mastery and potential in major
areas of responsibility.
68. System of Ranking Positions – refers to the process used in the hierarchical
arrangement of positions from highest to lowest, which shall be a guide in
determining which position is next-in-rank.
69. SUC – refers to the chartered state university or college.
