                       50. Ranking Faculty Member – refers to a senior faculty member with a Salary Grade
                          ranging from 22-27 and who has been chosen by the President to sit as member
                          of  the  University  Faculty  Selection  and  Promotions  Board  based  on  his/her
                          qualifications, experience, proven probity and objectivity.



                       51. Reassignment  –  movement  of  a  faculty  member  across  the  organizational
                            structure  within  the  same  SUC,  which  does  not  involve  a  reduction  in  rank,
                            status or salary, and does not require issuance of an appointment but an office
                            order by duly authorized official.

                       52. Recognized and reputable institution – refers to a college or university that has national
                            and international reputation for the quality and diversity of its programs and duly

                            accredited by authorized accrediting agencies.

                       53. Recruitment  -  the  process  of  searching  for  and  attracting  potential  applicants
                          through announcements, assessments and related procedures to select the most
                          qualified applicant for appointment to an appropriate position in the faculty.

                       54. Reclassification – involves a change in the classification of a position either as a
                          result of a change in its duties and responsibilities sufficient to warrant placing
                          the  position  in  a  different  class,  or  as  a  result  of  a  reevaluation  of  a  position
                          without a significant change in its duties and responsibilities.

                       55. Relevant  degree  –  refers  to  appropriate  academic  degree  which  is  related  to
                          his/her  present  assignment,  functions  and  duties,  earned  from  academic
                          institutions of recognized standing.

                       56. Relevant training - refers to formal or non-formal  training  courses  such  as seminars
                          and workshops that enhance employee skills and capabilities.

                       57. Secondment – movement of a faculty member from one department or institution
                          to another which is temporary and which may or may not require the issuance of
                          an appointment which may involve either reduction or increase in compensation

                          and benefits.

                       58.  Second Level Position  – involve professional, technical and scientific work in a
                          non-supervisory or supervisory capacity up to Division Chief or its equivalent.

                       59.  Selection - the process of thoroughly screening qualified applicants for certain
                          positions to determine the most qualified among them or to rank them based on
                          their qualifications and professional potentials.
