• Mr Eddie Leow , an NYAA Gold Award holder
(2013), overcame challenging circumstances while
studying at ITE College East. He continued his
education, graduating from Singapore Polytechnic
with a Diploma in Engineering and obtaining a degree
in Sustainability Engineering from the Singapore
Institute of Technology. He also earned a Master’s
in Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering (Building
Service). Eddie’s journey demonstrates the power
of determination, hard work, and a positive attitude
learned during his NYAA programme journey.
• Ms Cheryl Lee, an NYAA Gold Award holder
(2017), a former student from Serangoon Secondary
School who graduated with a Diploma from Nanyang
Polytechnic, is an active environmental advocate. An
NYAA HSBC Youth Environmental Award recipient,
she has worked with corporations to raise public
awareness in ecological advocacy locally and
internationally. She is currently pursuing her Master’s
in International Relations at Oxford University.
• Mr Chong Kok Hwee, Desmond, an NYAA Gold
Award holder (1998), Member of the NYAA Council,
and Chief Commissioner of the Singapore Scout
Association, was awarded The Distinguished Service
Silver Award from the President of Singapore in
recognition of his excellent service to Singapore’s
Scout Movement.
• Dr Eugene Seah, an NYAA Gold Award holder (1995)
and Global Board Member of COMPASS is chaired by
Ms Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for Education
and Manpower. He plays a crucial role in shaping
educational policies.
• Three NYAA Gold Award holders, LTC Lim En (2007),
Dr Charles Phua (2002), and Mr Tommy Koh (2022),
received the Ten Outstanding Young Person Award
2023 from the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office
and Deputy Secretary-General of NTUC, Mr Desmond
Tan.
