Outdoor Appreciation (One with Nature)

                   • Encourage appreciation of and ease with nature, build self-confidence, and develop a
sense of responsibility and stewardship for the environment.

Engaging in outdoor learning fosters confidence as students enter unfamiliar environments
beyond their homes and classrooms. It cultivates problem-solving skills, enhances teamwork,
strengthens their comfort and appreciation for the natural world, and builds confidence in
                   operating outside their comfort zone.

                   Healthy Living (Health is Wealth)

                   • Encourage appreciation of and ease with nature, build self-confidence, and develop a
sense of responsibility and stewardship for the environment.

Physical and mental wellness is vital to a student’s overall well-being. Healthy living involves
nurturing a healthy lifestyle on a day-to-day basis, encompassing both physical and mental
aspects. By adopting healthy habits early, such as maintaining a balanced diet and regular exercise,
students set themselves on a positive trajectory toward their overall well-being.

                   Family Bonding (Meaningful Interaction)

                   • Facilitate meaningful interactions among siblings, parents, grandparents, and relatives,
helping to build a child's identity, values, sense of belonging, and confidence to interact,
                         aspire, and achieve.
The Family Bonding component focuses on building strong relationships between students and
their parents, immediate family members, and extended family members like uncles, aunties, and
cousins. The earlier this bond is established in a child’s life, the more beneficial it becomes for their
                   overall development.

POLICY RELATING TO MANAGEMENT AND CONFLICT OF INTEREST

As the Constitution outlines, the NYAA Association maintains a strict policy to address
management and conflicts of interest. According to this policy, Directors are responsible for
avoiding any situation where their duties or personal interests may conflict with their obligations
as Directors. Directors must disclose their interests in a conflict and refrain from participating in
or voting on related matters. To further ensure ethical conduct, the Association has established a
Conflict of Interest Policy for Staff and a Code of Ethics for Council Members.

In 2023, there were no reported cases or issues involving conflicts of interest among council
members or staff. However, should any such problems arise, members and staff must declare their
interests and abstain from decision-making processes related to the specific case.

The Association maintains an open and transparent approach to management and staff hiring
matters. Job vacancies are advertised through various internet portals, including Jobstreet,
                   JobsDB, LinkedIn, and Indeed.

Regarding remuneration, increments, and bonuses, these are determined by the Finance
Committee, led by the Treasurer, Mr Gary Shen Weiren, and the Council Members of the National
Youth Achievement Award, chaired by Dr Eugene Seah Hsiu-Min, Chairman of the NYAA National
Council. The decision-making process ensures appropriate governance and accountability in
                   financial matters.

The NYAA Association remains committed to upholding integrity, transparency, and fair practices
                   in its management and operations.
