The Gam Sia (Thank You) Care Packages 2021

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bukit Merah
Youth Network (BMYN) and NYAA Gold Award
Holders’ Alumni (GAHA) collaborated and supported
The Gam Sia (Thank You) project to thank the elderly
in the Radin Mas Constituency for their support.
As a result, on 27 January 2021, Mr Melvin Yong,
Member of Parliament for Radin Mas Single Member
Constituency, led the young people and distributed
more than 400 care packages with food items to the
            elderly and their households.

Ms Lim En, NYAA Gold Award holder (2007 cohort)
and Vice-Chairman of Bukit Merah Youth Network Ms Lim En, NYAA Gold Award holder (2007 Cohort)
and her team of volunteers took more than three with Mr Melvin Yong, MP for Radin Mas.
months to source gifts from the well-wishers for
the needy elderly in Radin Mas Constituency. The
elderly residents and their household members
were very thankful for the kind gesture of the young
people who cared about their well-being during
            these trying times.

The Ministry of Health instituted the National
Healthy Lifestyle Programme to help improve the
lifestyle of Singaporeans in terms of their physical,
            social and mental well-being.

Ms Choo Pui Shan, an NYAA Gold Award holder
(2007 cohort) and a Lecturer with ITE College West,
led her team to develop a comprehensive health
programme. Her team used Artificial Intelligence
to raise awareness and emphasise having a healthy
lifestyle for the ITE College West students.

The team led by Ms Choo was the brainchild of
the health kiosk, providing simple instructions
and steps to stay healthy, which led to signing of a Ms Choo Pui Shan
memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the NYAA Gold Award holder (2007 Cohort)
