During The COVID-19 Pandemic In 2021
The Gam Sia (Thank You) Care Packages 2021
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bukit Merah
Youth Network (BMYN) and NYAA Gold Award
Holders’ Alumni (GAHA) collaborated and supported
The Gam Sia (Thank You) project to thank the elderly
in the Radin Mas Constituency for their support.
As a result, on 27 January 2021, Mr Melvin Yong,
Member of Parliament for Radin Mas Single Member
Constituency, led the young people and distributed
more than 400 care packages with food items to the
elderly and their households.

The National Healthy Lifestyle Programme
The Ministry of Health instituted the National
Healthy Lifestyle Programme to help improve the
lifestyle of Singaporeans in terms of their physical,
social and mental well-being.
Ms Choo Pui Shan, an NYAA Gold Award holder
(2007 cohort) and a Lecturer with ITE College West,
led her team to develop a comprehensive health
programme. Her team used Artificial Intelligence
to raise awareness and emphasise having a healthy
lifestyle for the ITE College West students.
The team led by Ms Choo was the brainchild of
the health kiosk, providing simple instructions
and steps to stay healthy, which led to signing of a Ms Choo Pui Shan
memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the NYAA Gold Award holder (2007 Cohort)
Institute of Technical Education and the Singapore
Heart Foundation.
