Reimagining Singapore 2030 Forum on Sustainability and Liveability 2021
On 17 August 2021, the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public
Policy and Institute of Policy Studies organised the
“Reimagining Singapore 2030 Forum on Sustainability
and Liveability 2030”.
Dr Natalie Pang Li San, a Senior Lecturer with the
Department of Communications and New Media with
the National University of Singapore and Principal
Investigator NUS Centre for Trusted Internet and
Community Singapore and an NYAA Gold Award
holder (2000 Cohort), played a crucial role in three
critical projects on “Achieving Digital Well-being”,
a community-based approach with the Centre for
Trusted Internet and Community Singapore, Internet
and General Election in Singapore with the Institute
of Policy Studies and Digital Equity Home-Based Work.
Over the last 22 years, Dr Pang has published and
co-authored nearly 100 articles and publications.
In addition, Dr Pang was the Moderator for the
“Reimaging Singapore 2030 Forum on Sustainability Dr Natalie Pang
and Liveability”. NYAA Gold Award holder (2000 Cohort)
The Silent Heroes Award 2021
Mr Gareth Chua, a student with autism with ITE
College Central, is an NYAA Young Photographers’
Network (YPN) member. Mr Darren Soh, an NYAA
NYAA Gold Award Holder (1998 Cohort) and Founding
Member of the NYAA Young Photographers’ Network
(YPN), mentored him during the workshop. Under the
mentorship of Mr Soh, Gareth’s photography skills
improved. Gareth was enthusiastic and attended
the year-long project without missing a single
training session. He was a bit disruptive during the
workshop, but he meant no harm as he has difficulty
communicating with other students due to his
autism spectrum disorder. Gareth’s confidence grew,
and excel through his interest. In 2021, the Urban Mr Gareth Chua, NYAA Awardee with
Redevelopment Authority (URA) displayed his work at Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for Finance.
the Urban Festival Exhibition.
Gareth Chua was awarded the Silent Heroes Award
2021 in the Inspiring Youth Category. On 28 August
2021, Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for Finance,
presented the Silent Heroes Award at the Shangri-La
Hotel with a live audience of fifty persons due to the
COVID-19 safety management measures restriction
and viewed by more than 1,000 on Facebook Live.
