Student’s Reflection

Taking part in this sustainability project has provided me with valuable insights into the multitude of
environmental factors shaping the present and future world. Through this experience, I have enhanced
my scientific and mathematical skills significantly. My team and I encountered challenges in calculating
the company’s carbon emissions and devising cost-saving strategies aligned with Elitez’s long-term
sustainability goals. Despite lacking tangible product development, we formulated suggestions based
on various factors. Participating in the environmental and sustainability department has been rewarding.
I have gained a deeper understanding of sustainability principles, learned how to implement sustainable
initiatives, and witnessed Elitez’s progression towards becoming a more environmentally conscious
organisation. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Elitez for granting me the opportunity to contribute
to their sustainable journey. I eagerly anticipate further growth and the opportunity to expand my
Sandoval Ahren Pantoja expertise in sustainability.

Participating in this sustainability project was a completely new experience for me, despite having
worked on similar projects in school. The novelty stemmed from the need to familiarise myself with
environmental and sustainability terminology before delving into research.

Prior to this project, I had never heard of Elitez Pte Ltd, and I was surprised during our initial visit to
discover that SME companies, especially in the human resource consulting industry, were actively
engaging in sustainability practices. This project served as an eye-opening experience, providing me
with valuable insights into various concepts such as environmental, social, and governance (ESG)
principles, sustainable development goals (SDGs), B corporations, and low-carbon sustainability. I am
grateful to Elitez, Mr Derrick Teo, CEO of Elitez Pte Ltd, and Mr Andy Lim Wen Jie, Head of Environmental
and Sustainability, for facilitating this opportunity. Although I had not anticipated being drawn to this
type of work, I have gained a wealth of knowledge, new experiences, and discovered a potential career
Chua Ee Lin Eilleen path through this endeavour.
