Eco-solution 2: Implementation of Renewable Energy Certificates

The second eco-solution involves using Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to address scope two carbon emission
reduction. Scope two emission reduction strategies offer additional business benefits such as cost savings from operational
efficiency, increased sales and customer loyalty, innovation, and improved relationships with stakeholders. By leveraging
RECs, Elitez can power its offices with renewable energy, allowing carbon-neutral electricity providers to offset the company’s
carbon emissions. The calculation for potential carbon savings is outlined. The adoption of RECs enables Elitez to decrease
its operational carbon emissions indirectly. By procuring renewable energy, Elitez can effectively offset its carbon emissions
consumption. However, it’s important to note that the purchase of RECs does not guarantee the company’s direct access to
the “green energy” supply. When approaching an energy supplier that offers green plans/options, it is essential to compare
and evaluate them using the four criteria shown in Table 5.

Eco-solution 3: Implementation of Water-
Saving Aerators

The third eco-solution aims to reduce Elitez’s overall water
consumption and costs while mitigating its environmental
impact. To achieve this, water-saving aerators (refer to Figure
9) were installed in the washrooms and pantry areas.
