CFS have maintained close links with several overseas air forc-
es and are invited to visit to conduct flying standardisations and
provide assurance. This activity is integral to Defence’s Activ-
ites other than Operations (DAOTO).

The CFS Agent network covers all types in current service with-
in Defence. Each year, CFS host an ‘Agents’ Forum’ to allow
the sharing of information between services and types. It also
helps to sustain the relationship with the frontline units.
More recently, CFS Examiners have supported defence con-
tractors flying UK registered air systems via the MAA Contractor
Flying Approval Organisation Scheme. This has required Ex-
aminers to award qualifications to instructors on air systems
which are no longer in service with the military.

Advanced Examiners

The CFS Advanced Examiners are based at
RAF Valley on Angelsey. The team of four cover
4 FTS and fly the Hawk T2 and Texan T1. They
provide support to the frontline Fast Jet fleets
