designed for this purpose; a converted trash can is not an acceptable
alternative. It is recommended that the rain barrel be set into a
landscaped area, so that its appearance will be softened by plant
material.
Landscaping
• Areas of grass may be replaced with planted/shrubbery areas marched
with shredded/chipped wood.
• Owners may install landscape edging no higher than 4”.
• property owners may construct enclosed planters no higher than 18”,
made of stone, engineered block with the appearance of natural stone,
or of landscaping Timbers that are squared, not rounded.
• Property owners may install a vegetable garden in the rear yard IF the
rear yard is enclosed with a DNB-approved fence.
• Property owners may remove undesirable plants such as brambles,
Poison Ivy, honeysuckle, etc. from a DRB-approved natural, common
area if they are infringing on the owner’s property.
• DRB Application Form is required for installation of plastic line
fishpond which must be in a completely fenced rear yard, maximum
size 20 square feet, set into the ground, with appropriate landscaping
to integrate the pawn into its environment.
• Significant structural elements related to landscaping (retaining walls,
land regarding, paved walkways in steps, etc. MUST be Reviewed
and approved by the DRB (neighbors’ and Cluster Board member
signature required).
Patios and Walkways
• The patio may be constructed of slate, flagstone, wood, or aggregate
material.
• if constructed of wood, the patio must be painted to match the trim
(not white), sealed to maintain natural color or stained a color
complementary to the house, or match the color of the deck, if
applicable.
