A peer audit shall cover the same areas as the internal vehicle maintenance and maintenance
facility (workshop) audits. In addition it should also audit progress against previous
recommendations and the adequacy of actions planned and undertaken.
4.3.3 People
Maintenance Directors shall ensure that peer audits are included within their annual audit plan.
Maintenance Managers shall ensure that those required to undertake peer audits are suitably
trained and competent.
4.4 External Audits
4.4.1 Principles
Maintenance activity undertaken by Group Companies shall be subject to external audit and
verification
4.4.2 Process
Group Companies shall put in place arrangements to ensure that 10% of locations are subject to
audit by an external, competent auditor on an 3 years basis.
Such audits shall cover:
Condition and maintenance of vehicles
Maintenance processes and compliance with legal, manufacturer, Group and company
standards.
External audits are in addition to audits undertaken as part of achieving any external recognition or
accreditation.
4.4.3 People
Maintenance Directors shall ensure that audits by a suitably competent external provider are
procured in line with their audit plan.
