4 Requirements
4.1 Audit Planning
4.1.1 Principles
Each Group company must define annually, a schedule of audits to provide assurance that
adequate arrangements are in place, implemented effectively and identify any areas for
improvement.
4.1.2 Process
Group companies shall utilise a risk based approach to determine the type, frequency, volume and
location of audits to be undertaken, to include: internal (self) audit; peer audit; and external audit
4.1.3 People
The Maintenance Director (or equivalent) should ensure that there is an annual plan in place which
meets the requirements of this Global Maintenance Standard.
4.2 Internal Audits
4.2.1 Principles
Each Group Company must undertake regular internal audits to review the compliance with and
effectiveness of, arrangements for the maintenance of vehicles.
4.2.2 Process
Internal audits should be divided into 3 areas:
Spot Checks on vehicles
Vehicle maintenance audit
Maintenance facility (workshop) audit
Spot Checks on vehicles
