5.5 People
The Managing Director (or equivalent) shall satisfy themselves that an adequate vehicle cleaning
process is in place and that a designated person in their organisation is accountable for vehicle
cleaning services.
The Maintenance Director (or equivalent director if designated to another function) shall ensure
that there is an annual plan in place which meets the requirements of this Global Maintenance
Standard.
Ensure that any employee, or any contractors sourced to maintain or carry out servicing on
vehicles, are trained and sufficiently skilled.
Ensure Maintenance Supervisor and supervisory staff (or equivalent) are aware of the need
for robust cleanliness planning.
Ensure Maintenance Supervisor and supervisory staff (or equivalent) have the competence
and authority to remove vehicles from service where required.
Ensure Maintenance Supervisor (or equivalent) are aware of the requirements and the
responsibility for reviewing all defects identified on services prior to releasing the vehicle for
service.
Ensure Maintenance Supervisor (or equivalent) are aware of the requirements and the
responsibility for signing off vehicles as roadworthy following any service.
Ensure there is a robust process to communicate and update critical information regarding
service content.
Maintenance Manager (or equivalent) must:
Ensure that all cleaners who are required to undertake vehicle cleaning are trained and
skilled to do so.
Ensure there is a process to monitor and audit the vehicles cleaning process on a regular
basis to ensure all aspects of this Global Standard and the local policy are met.
Ensure all required tooling and equipment are provided.
Ensure Supervisors are aware of the requirements to service cleanliness on time and
according to the servicing plan.
Ensure Supervisors are aware of the requirements and the responsibility for reviewing any
lack of cleanliness identified on servicing prior to releasing the vehicle for service.
Ensure Supervisors are aware of the requirements and the responsibility for signing off
vehicles as roadworthy.
Cleaning supervisors (or equivalent) must:
Ensure that the daily, weekly, 6-monthly cleaning plans are delivered
Ensure that all cleaners follow agreed processes for cleaning vehicles, including the correct
use of cleaning equipment and products
Review the cleaning of vehicles before release for service
Cleaners (whether employed by a Group Company or an external contractor) must:
