5.2 Internal Vehicle Cleanliness
5.2.1 Principles
Each Group company must define a schedule of cleanliness vehicle to provide assurance that
adequate arrangements and correct cleaning of the vehicles.
This standard defines the requirements that must be fulfilled to achieve the specific internal vehicle
cleanliness by all Group Companies. Moreover, this standard sets a minimum quality that must be
satisfied to achieve the objective.
5.2.2 Process
It is recognised that the cleaning process may vary depending on the type of vehicle, contractual
obligations, internal or outsourced cleaning services, specific needs and requirements, countries
and locations. The following basic principles must be applied to achieve a robust and effective
cleaning process:
Plan to achieve the maximum degree of cleanliness.
Allocation of diverse duties where vehicle cleanliness is achieved
Well-lit areas for interior cleanliness
Cleaning and washing equipment maintenance (cleanliness of brushes, servicing, etc)
Parking plan that allows for an effective cleaning process
In order to achieve this process, staff must be trained and competent and the correct equipment
must be supplied.
Urban (Bus)
Daily Cleanliness Routine - Urban
The following is the minimum cleaning specification which all vehicles must undergo on a daily
basis.
Remove large items of waste
Cleaning of cabin or screen, dashboard, mirrors and driver control
Cleaning of handles and support bars
Sweep or vacuuming of the floors covering the full interior of the vehicle
Scrubbing floors and stairs
Remove items from pedal area
Wipe dash board and other dirt
Remove human waste and incident cleaning (vomit, blood, chewing gum, vomiting, drinks,
etc)
Empty bins (where fitted)
