Hebrews 10:25

As I begin this article, I want to make it

clear that I’m not against likeminded, born-

again believers assembling together for the

corporate worship of God through prayer,

singing of hymns, and the preaching and

teaching of God’s Word, and I’m not

against organization and the one-pastor-

per-flock structure of church life. Even in

the Old Testament, God gave His people

pastors to feed them with knowledge and

understanding (Jer. 3:15), and Ephesians

4:11 lists pastors as one of the gifts that

God gives to His people “For the perfecting

of the saints, for the work of the ministry,

for the edifying of the body of Christ”

(Eph.4:12).
