person’s conscience becomes hardened to

the Holy Spirit, there is no longer any hope

for the salvation of that person's soul (Jn.

6:44), and that person can sit under the

teaching of God's Word and even the

preaching of Christ's suffering on the cross

and be totally unmoved and nonresponsive

to the love of God expressed through the

sacrifice of His Son. That could account for

the many who have grown up in church and

under the teaching of God's Word and who

even profess to be Christians but continue

living a life that's no different from the

average person. When a person is born

again, that person's righteousness or

"morality" will exceed that of even so-called
