Figure 3.3.4 Inactive Multicentric Discospondylitis (Canine) CT
14y MC Golden Retriever with nasal carci
noma. No clinical signs referable to spinal
pain or neurologic deficits. Thoracic radio
graphs and a thoracic CT examination were
obtained for staging purposes. There are mul
tiple sites of vertebral endplate osteolysis,
adjacent bone sclerosis, intervertebral disk
space narrowing, and spondylotic bridging
within the thoracic vertebral column. These
features are evident on the radiographic
examination but are more clearly delineated
on the CT image. The dog was thought to
have had multicentric discospondylitis in the
past, which had subsequently resolved.
