Temporary Dwelling, Everlasting Promise
watched Sister Turtle walk by.
“You look so beautiful this morning,” he said as he
stared at her.
“Thank you,” she said softly as she smiled. He never
noticed before how gorgeous her smile was.
“After dating for over two and a half wonderful
years, I’ve decided that I would like those two and a half
years to turn into the rest of my life with you,” he said as
the congregation started clapping and cheering loudly.
Sister Turtle was rejoicing and crying uncontrollably
with tears of joy.
“The past few years, I have enjoyed my relation-
ship in Christ with you, and I’ve enjoyed our friendship.
Everything about you is amazing, wonderful, and loving.
You’ve helped me grow, mature, and even surrender
parts of me over to Christ. There’s no other lady that can
make me feel the way you do. There’s not another lady
that can turn me on the way you do. And there’s no
other lady that I look forward to seeing, hearing, and
talking to every day. Therefore, I can honestly say that I
Love You!”
Brother Turtle was overcome with emotion as tears,
like a waterfall, flowed from Sister Turtle. Pastor Tortoise
signaled for one of the ushers to get Sister Turtle some
tissue. As she was handed the tissue, Brother Turtle got
down on one knee.
“With all my heart, love and compassion, will you
marry me?” he said as he pulled out a beautiful dia-
mond ring from his inner shell. The congregation got si-
lent, awaiting her answer.
“YES!” Sister Turtle yelled out, “yes, yes, I will marry
you!” The congregation went wild with joy and excite-
ment.
Brother Turtle placed the ring on his new fiancé’s fin-
ger and planted a big kiss. Everyone was screaming and
rejoicing at the beautiful moment they just witnessed.
