Temporary Dwelling, Everlasting Promise
lost their way and wanted to rededicate their lives back
to Christ. After a minute, a male and female turtle made
their way up to the alters. Then the pastor asked if there
were anyone that just needed prayer to come up to the
altars. A few turtles made their way up.
“Please, bow your heads,” Pastor Tortoise said as
he began to pray, “Father, in the name of Jesus Christ,
thank you for sending us your only begotten son to die for
our sins and the sins of the whole world. Act now, in the
name of Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit, we ask that you meet
the needs in the hearts of your people tonight. As every-
one is making their request known to you, we thank you,
father, for answering those requests. Satin, the blood of
Jesus Christ, is against you, and we know that you have
already been defeated.”
As Pastor Tortoise was praying, you could hear
the cries of the lost souls surrendering their hearts back
to Christ. Then he asked everyone to repeat after him: I
am a hearer of God and a doer of the word. I’ve made
my request known, and I know that you’ve already an-
swered it. Therefore I praise you and thank you in ad-
vance.
“In Jesus’ name, Amen”, Pastor Tortoise and the
congregation said together, “Lord, let the words of our
mouths and the meditation of our heart be Lord accept-
able in thy sight oh Lord, our strength and redeemer.”
He then had everyone show love to each other and
told them to enjoy the rest of their evening. Everyone
hugged and gave encouragement to each other.
Brother Turtle repeated what he had planned to
say to Sister Turtle over and over in his head. He started
looking for her but couldn’t seem to find her. He thought
to himself, this can’t be happening; she never misses ser-
vice.
Brother Turtle looked around again in every direction
of the sanctuary, and still no sign of her. Heartbroken, let
down, and disappointed, Brother Turtle fellowshipped a
