Temporary Dwelling, Everlasting Promise
time, he had too much to do, or he’d just simply did not
feel like it that day.
Brother Turtle, who was slowly catching up with rab-
bit, spent time with God regularly. He spent time com-
municating and thanking God; it was the highlight of
his day. With much to do and constantly crucifying his
flesh, Brother Turtle still kept his desire strong in order to
hear the voice of God and feel his touch. At times, the
creator of creation would be encouraged, comforted,
and lifted by the worship that sweetly flowed from Broth-
er Turtle’s heart and mouth. Questions that needed to
be answered before he made any important decisions
would be answered in the presence of God. Restoration
would be given to Brother Turtle from the spiritual dew.
As a result of spending time with God Almighty, he could
see a spiritual mirror, revealing to him things about him-
self that he still needed God to work on. Everything that
Brother Turtle needed would be found and taken care
of in God’s holy presence.
However, Brother Rabbit continued his pace and
slight lead on Brother Turtle.
Hurdle Four: Renewing Your Mind
The fourth hurdle came up, and Brother Rabbit
had to overcome the limitation of renewing his mind
with God’s holy word. After some time, he started los-
ing desire for the TV pastors. He began criticizing them
about the things they were saying. To him, it just wasn’t
the truth. Brother Rabbit no longer received the spiritu-
al TV dinners that barely satisfied his spiritual appetite.
He no longer spent time in God’s presence. As a result,
Brother Rabbit began to become stagnated in his walk
with Christ.
Brother Turtle finally made it to the fourth hurdle of
renewing his mind with God’s holy word. He meditated
on God’s word daily and memorized new scriptures oc-
